Cavefish – Dev Diary 5
I love the theme of Cavefish – I think there’s so much to explore. There’s also new core gameplay ideas that have barely ever been used in other videogames.

Here’s a simple quest system tutorial example (yes, it’s free and open source).
Unfortunately, Godot still hasn’t got as many assets and tutorials as Unity does. So I’ve decided to share my own internal dev tools with the community.

Hi guys,
I just made a new gadget for Twitch/Youtube streamers… I would like to ask for your feedback.
It adds a fun avatar that transcribes everything that is said by the streamer into text.
The idea is to provide users who are unable to listen to streams a way to know what the streamer is saying.
This might be useful for people watching streams at work or those with hearing disabilities.
It also reacts to certain keywords, which triggers specific animations.
*For now, the only animation in this video is the Hello/Goodbye hand wave, but you’ll be able to add other keywords.
Future updates will add new and/or customizable avatars.
This will likely be free for everyone, but I would like to make the best app I can before making it public.
Sorry for the super awkward video, I was paying attention to too many things at once!!!
You might also notice that I do have a Portuguese accent and that transcription isn’t perfect in this early version.
If you’re interested in this project, follow on Twitter or Twitch for updates!

If you know someone who is hearing-impaired please share. Their feedback would be most valuable!
Please give me your feedback in the comments section below!
Let me hear your thoughts on this!
Thanks,

This week I’ve been focusing a bit more on integrating interaction elements together and polishing the first few days of the calendar that I mentioned in Cavefish Dev Diary 1. Mostly being able to move documents between places and animating transitions. I feel like there’s a ton of tiny things that were accomplished in this dev cycle, but not worth detailing, so I’ll keep it short.

Hi guys, time for a new update on the development of Cavefish, a game set in a fictional cold-war Era, where the player needs to spy radio waves from other nations.

the idea behind Cavefish is to make a game that tells a story. It’s a spy story, and I want to focus on the idea of listening to private conversations over the radio. A couple of nations are stuck in a fantasy cold-war-like Era. The player acts as a listener to all radio frequencies and will tap into the private military or diplomatic communications. His Intelligence Agency will demand information from several sources and the player must be able to intercept them. The player will also be traveling in a van across a large map to reach certain hotspots where communication is happening.

I’ve been working on this project for a few days now. It revolves around the idea of being a communications spy during a Cold War-era fantasy theme. There are a bunch of nations in conflict, spying, bribery, extorsion and plenty of choices to make.

Sorry for calling it Indigo for now. I haven’t yet settled on a final name for this new game I’m developing. To be perfectly honest, I decided invest my time in other things that are more important to the final game. So a few weeks ago, I decided to develop a new game, based on
